Safely back in Skardu

Here's the news from Andres we received on Monday:

We are all safely back in Skardu after a successful walk-out
over Gondokora La to Hushe, and drove to Skardu today.
And of course the weather is good!!  Tomorrow the team
goes via the Karakorum Highway to Islamabad.

Dear Cecilia,

I have posted a short message before but in Afrikaans.  I guess you did not get it.  I am so glad to know that you are all safely back in (partial) civilisation.  I cannot wait to see you when you get back to SA and to hear all the details.  I cannot image the frustration of having bad weather so constantly, but I am sure your experience, vistas, photos, team spirit and the thrill of it all is something I will only continue to dream about - yet you have done it my girl.  So proud of you!!!  I hope to hear from you should you find an Internet Cafe that is open - I did not get the Cape Town job, but will keep looking.  Love you lots and lots and herewith receive a huge hug from your friends in the Lowveld too!  Mooi bly, Madelein Pieterse.
