Marco Siffredi, an experienced French Snowboarder is missing on Everest. 23 year old Marco was last seen from the Tibetan Base Camp on Sunday around 3pm local time. He was then on his way up the Hornbein couloir, over 2000 m long and extremely narrow, to attempt a snowboard descent. The search party has scanned the area up to 8500m without finding any trace.

The French embassy in Beijing stated yesterday that there are very small chances of finding the young climber alive.

Marco Siffredi was the first person to snowboard from Everest's North Face in 2001.
