Everest- Tibet or Nepal

Some questions about Everest:

Are the Summit located in Nepal or Tibet?

There is a lot of tour operators offering trekking trips to "Everest Basecamp and Island Peak".  I guess there is two basecamps, both in Nepal and Tibet? In wich country is "Island Peak" in?

Finally a silly question: Does it ever happend that climbers are so exhausted when they summit that they go down "the wrong way" ending up in the wrong camp on the wrong side of the mountain?  :lol)

The summit itself is on the border. According to the China-Nepal
border treaty of 1961:

"11--From Niehlu (Niule) bridge the boundary line runs generally
eastward to Chejenma (Guari Smankar), and then eastward along the
mountain ridge and then northward along the watershed between the
Rongshar River and the Rongbuk River on the one hand and the
tributaries of the Dudh Kosi River on the other hand to Nagpa Pass,
and then runs generally southeastward along the mountain ridge,
passing through Cho Oyu Mountain, Pumoli Mountain (Gnire Langur),
mount Chomo-lungma (Sagarmatha) and Lhotse, to Makalu Mountain; then
runs southeastward and then eastward along the mountain ridge to Popti
Pass."

Sagarmartha is Mount Everest. It's not uncommon for borders to run
along watershed boundaries, and, therefore, bisect mountain peaks.

North Side of Everest is in Tibet (China), South Side is in Nepal...

Yes, there are two basecamps, one on North Side (Tibet/China) and one on the South Side (Nepal)....

Island Peak is in Nepal....

Im sure it probably has happened where a climber went down the wrong side, though I dont know of any specific stories......

Don't be sure as it has not yet happened. You not only need extra permits for both side, but you will also be jailed for a long time if you cross the border illegaly.
This year some climbers from Nepal finally got all the necessary permits, but the weather was too bad for them to climb...

Yes, because I am sure that there is a customs office at 8850 meters if you cross into China.

all i was saying was that it has probably happened, where someone went down the wrong side, realized it after an hour or so, then turned back, and when to the C4 on the side they originally ascended....
