Yes Lynne, all the fat bastards are there in spirit.  I am here in America, working out, lifting beers.  It will be interesting to hear how this Everest season compares to last.

I am here as well. I wish the team all the best. Eat a few Momos for me.

Am looking forward to joining you guys again soon for another attempt.

I hope the border crossing goes well, seeing as I am not their to scream at the locals and organize you all. :-)

Best regards from Munich.

Messages passed on. Lorenzo is back at BC. Noel has done North Col OK and returned with others to lower alt to recover - no apparent eye problems.

Chris

If you could give Lorenzo a message from Dave and me, I would greatly appreciate it. Please let him know we are thinking of him. We are very relieved his throat is on the mend and that he is off the antibiotics. We wish him a successful acclimazation to the north col. I think he will enjoy the solitude of climbing alone on his first rotation.

Thank you so much,

Have done that, MC.

Meanwhile, here's an article from the BBC News website about the strange weather patterns Everest has been experiencing this Winter and Spring.

Chris

Please pass on a message to Lorenzo. Dave and I are sending tons of positive energy as he, Noel, Kirk, Enrik, Ronnie and the Norwegians start their ascent to IC and then ABC. We hope the weather window will hold out for a summit attempt. Also, congratulations to Vladimir for his early summit today!

Thank you,

...he's at IBC (5700m) with Noel and saying that Everest looks very clear, weather "excellent" and there's little wind. Just goes to show you can have completely different weather on one side of Everest to the other. Expects to be well on the way to the summit by this coming weekend.

Thanks “Big Girl”

The more news the better.  I heard Noel is practically running up the “hill”!!!

I am wishing them all a safe journey as they start this final push to “the top of the world”.  Success to all.  Climb strong and stay focused.

Cheers

Camp 2.  Wa Hoo.  This is great.  Remind them, Chris and Lynne, to drink their 4 liters of water.  Of course they know, but sometimes even the best of climbers lets this slide.  I'm sure their sherpas have plenty of snow to boil.

And tell them we are all thinking of them.  John

oh, never mind on the reminder (to drink water).  Listened to Lorenzo's latest blog, and he said they are drinking tons of water.  I just always push that, because it made a difference for me.

Well, if all goes well, we are less than 2 days away!

for those that don't know, once you get to camp 3, under most circumstances, you can only stay there one or two nights.  (last year we <team 2> did 2 nights, because of bad weather)

on the way down, hopefully no nights at camp 3, but one night is doable is there is enough oxygen.

Also, a second attempt is possible (after a week), but not advisable, and then there needs is be more oxygen, which probably they don't have.

Its sounds very much like they have a good enough weather window to go for the summit straight away. I don't know if Lorenzo intends to do a recording from the summit - might be too much to ask! But he'll have at least a stills camera and we should get some photos when he's back to ABC.
