Is there an age you must be above to get a permit to climb any of the 7 summits? :?) I wish to get started on them as soon as possible and needed to know when i would be able to.
THANKS!

I just would like to add that you do not need to know yourself, but any direction would be muchly appreciated. Thanks!

Hi Rachel
I do not know the required age limits of all 7 summits. I am guessing that you are the same Rachel that came on this site as a guest on Nov. 7, 2004. If so, I assume you are about 14 or 15 years old now and live in New Zealand. (Just a presumption.) I would recommend you plan and train for Kili as it is the easiest of the 7 summits and the mimimum age is only 10 years old. Depending on where you are in NZ, there are some good mountains you can train on. Here is a link that Harry posted with a brief training program for Kili.

You can get more info on the age limits of the remaining "7" as you go. I hope this helps a little. I love your enthusiasm.
Cheers

hi rachel,
if you are in NZ, then lots of training opportunities in the Mt Cook area.....Lake Wanaka, etc...they have alpine mountaineering courses for all levels.
you can check out Adventure Consultants as they are based there.
good luck !

Thanks heap! You guessed right on my age and where i live. I'm in the North Island, so i cannot access the mountains so easily, but i will try and get in contact with adventure consultants. Hopefully you'll see me on the list of those who have climbed kili in the next couple of years.

Rachel,
If you want the best deal, go through Harry!! Contact him on THIS website.
Chosing Kilimanjaro as your first is a good idea. Elbrus and Kili are the "easiest" and most think Kili is easier. But you still need to seriously prepare!
I have met many women chosing Kilimanjaro as their first.
