MountEverest.net just did a summary of all that has transpired so far based on Alex's information.  There is also a little background on Lincoln Hall.

ABC News International has stated that Lincoln was on the Project-Himalaya/DCXP team and they state that the 3rd step is at 34,000 feet above sea level !!!   Roll Eyes   They might want to check their information better.

Wow I know that Everest is rising each year , but didnt know it was that much  Huh
Im off to bed now , but hope that when i wake up there will be more good news of Lincoln being at ABC or even lower....Btw according to ABC News thats about 24,700 feet.
Also if this rescue is a success and we all hope it is , it will open a whole new debate about how many climbers including David Shard who were left for dead , would have really survived if helped propperly....but I leave that one for another time

Good night all and good luck Lincoln ( you have shown unbelievable strenght and stamina )

yes, since it is now 8:15 in the morning, at North Col, they should be leaving in about 3 hours.  Alex said when it "warms up".  Lincoln might want to sleep in!

Two new news items:

"Dan called, "Hi this is Dan from Summit-climb, we are down from the mountain everyone is fine, everyone is safe. I am going to send a another dispatch when I get to another phone. The minutes are almost out on this phone. We did not summit. We found this guy at about 8600 meters. We gave up the summit." So contrary to earlier reports Dan and his

Second is from another climbing group reporting some new obstacles and avalanches on the way to base-camp:

From Fiona "Massive towers had fallen down creating huge boulders of blue ice to climb over and exposing new crevasses to cross - all of which was unroped as it had happened so recently. A bit hairy to say the least."

Hi Arnout

If Dan's story proves to be true, then good for him...but lets wait and see.

This second story you have quoted has no relevance to Lincoln , as the collapsed towers Fiona Adler is mentioning are indeed in the Icefall on the South ( Nepal side ) of Everest.

I have just read a few stories that Lincoln is in ABC, but can't find confirmation so far. From ABC to BC north side the route is clear, but extremely long and tiring

Cas,

Thanks for the clarification. I'm a waterman, not a climber. Just weaving my way through here and trying to help.

From the sound of things, I'd be very surprised if Harry is able to post today. Hopefully he will at least make contact by phone.

Hoping for good news today.

Ok now there seems to be confirmation of the ABCamp story on mounteverest.net, quoting a call from Jamie McGuinness ( Peace Project/DCXP ) and Duncan Chessell ( DCXP). This would be Jamies second involvement in a rescue this year ..well done mate

What joy and lets hope its true

Claudia,

I can only imagine how helpless you feel lacking information about Thomas.

I wrote you back on the sightoneverest site before it went down. I had hoped you were able to read this before it went offline. There is another link on this forum with all the latest information known about Thomas's death. When more information becomes available it will be posted on this forum as soon as we get it.

My thoughts and sympathy,

This post was buried in the 'sightoneverest down' thread. It is relevant info regarding Licoln and Harry, so I posting it here again.. More reason the believe Harry will not be posting until tomorrow.  Thanks Collin. If you receive anymore news, please post.

My brother Milan, camera man to the Kikstra crew, called his girlfriend "this afternoon" (CET), and reported that Harry and he were in ABC (6400 mtr). Apparently they are "busy with the events surrounding Lincoln Hall".

Good news from Alex regarding Lincoln arriving to ABC.  Lincoln was able to place a call to his wife, Barbara.

More good news from Alex.

Per United Press International:
Lincoln Hall, the Australian climber who survived a night in the open near the summit of Mount Everest, left base camp Monday in the back of a jeep. He was expected to arrive in Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal, on Tuesday, and could return to Sydney in a few days after further medical treatment, the Daily Telegraph reported.

http://www.7summits-club.com/index.php3?id=27&idi=128&action=showfull

So, if all has gone according to plan, Lincoln has arrived in Kathmandu.
