Aconcagua Transportation Information
« on: Aug 28 2006, 23:52 »

Hi everyone.

Like my title says, i need information about transportation. We are going to land in Santiago de chile and I would like to know if anyone know where i can book a bus trip from there to mendoza ( i've found a site on internet where we could book now but cant retreive it now that i am ready ). I'm sure it wouldnt be a problem even if i have to book when im already there but i would also like to know if its possible to take a bus from punte del inca to santiago  on our way back or if i have to go back to mendoza. And even if i have to go back to Mendoza, is there transportation available from punte del inca to Mendoza?

Sorry for that long question and thanks for answers.

Hey Johnny

I am going myself in Feb 07, have had a look on loadsa forums lately.  From what I have seen a flight from Santiago to Mendoza would cost between $200 -$300.  The bus costs about $25-$30 bargain!!!  I cant remember the name of the various bus companies right now, think there are 3 main ones...check out virtualtourist.com and have a look on there.

Cheers

Jonny

Hope this helps

Buses from Santiago to Mendoza from main bus terminal at the metro stop of "Univeridad de Santiago." The trip takes 6 hours and costs 10.00 US$. Be sure to take water and a lunch as there isn't much in the way of stops for picking up food .
The top three being TurBus, CATA and Andesmar ?
