Great story. It seems that Marabotto could have gotten his rescuers a little more than a dinner in Kathmandu!

I agree. The positive publicity that the rescuers will get will be worth more than any financial reward, but maybe that will come later when he gets back home.
What bothers me is that other parties passed him just above camp 2 and did not return to help him or even delay their ascent.
