February 3, 2003 - A South African expedition will be climbing Everest's south side this upcoming spring.  Two of the climbers, Alex Harris and Sean Disney will complete the 7 summits (Carstensz version), should they reach the summit.

In addition, Deshun Deysel, who was on Everest previously in 1996, will be the first black person to stand atop Everest, should she make it.

Expedition members:  Alex Harris, Sean Disney, David Ker, Deshun Deysel, Sean Wisedale, and Robin Walshaw
