New discovery aid High Altitude Acclimatization

This may be on interest to those who climb at high altitude.

A recent discovery by Swiss scientists will change the way the human body acclimatize at high altitude. In experiments conducted on mountaineers, they found that chocolates made with milk from the cows in the Swiss Alps aid the body in acclimatizing at altitudes above 4000m above sea level. In fact, the experiments show positive results for up to 5500m above sea level. Experiments are now being tested to see if it has the same positive effects above 5500m.

They are also conducting experiments to see if other food products made with the same type of milk (ie. from cows grazing at altitude) will have the same benefits on the human body.

Personally, I think this is GREAT news. Then again, thats just me.

Whether or not this is true, eating Swiss chocolate at high altitude certainly can't hurt!!!

Swiss chocolat is always welcome, wether I'm up high, or down here in the netherlands, in summer or winter, dun case... but I wouldnt be suprised if it appeared to be a joke after all (still.. eating chocolate is great )

Anybody seen the Solar Halo yesterday?

I've never noticed a solar halo before although it does happen. A lunar halo is probably more obvious due to the dark surrounding sky. Usually a large lunar halo heralds onset of bad weather. I'm not sure if the same is true of the solar one.
