Yes, it is true. You can climb Mt. Everest with most costs (except for small personal expenses) paid for—And you can be a part of a world wide historical peace climb that is being made into an hour long documentary by an award winning film crew! How? Go to http://www.everestpeaceproject.org .  And then click on “we need climbers” and “apply”.

The Everest Peace Project:
Spring 2003 marks the 50th anniversary of the first ascent of Mt. Everest—one of the greatest physical achievements of the twentieth century. On this glorious anniversary, The Everest Peace Project is organizing a humanitarian expedition to climb Mt. Everest for Peace, Religious Tolerance and Understanding. On this expedition will include one climber from each major religious tradition: a Buddhist, a Christian, a Confucian, a Hindu, a Jew, a Muslim, and a Taoist.  There will also be an Atheist climber, for it is their belief that part of religious tolerance and freedom is the freedom not to believe in religion.

In this time of war and conflict around the globe, it is our mission to promote interfaith dialogue, helping to educate people about the different peoples, cultures, and religious traditions of the world. It is our goal to show that people from all races and beliefs can come together in a peaceful way and set an example to the world that we can all unite for peace and religious tolerance. We will also be raising money for several charities, including two in Nepal.

Our Sirdar is legendary Ang Rita Sherpa—our lead guide is famous Russian mountaineer Valentin Bojoukov. We are currently looking for experienced climbers who fully believe in our cause. We are still searching for a Hindu climber, a Christian climber, a Jewish Climber, a Taoist climber, and a Confucian climber. If you are interested please contact us directly:

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate in contacting me.

Thank you,
