  • Greetings from tha lowlands
    • The 7 summits pages

Nova just alerted me to this:
"In 1980 Mount St. Helens in Washington State suffered a catastrophic landslide that released seething volcanic gases and rock fragments in a cataclysm that destroyed hundreds of square miles of forest. Could Africa's fabled Mount Kilimanjaro be heading for the same fate? Join NOVA for an expedition up Kilimanjaro to learn what the future holds for the world's tallest volcano and its iconic--but vanishing--summit glaciers.

Along the way, you will meet African-born naturalist Robin Buxton, an expert on the ecology of Kilimanjaro who has been permanently disabled from polio since age two and whose first effort to summit Kilimanjaro borders on the heroic, and Tanzanian park ranger and naturalist Michael Ngatolowa, whose personal goal is to see snow, a substance that he has only glimpsed from afar and that clings like perpetual clouds to the mountain's lofty top.

Join us for a rebroadcast of "Volcano Above The Clouds" on Tuesday, May 29 at 8:00 pm ET/PT. Check your local listings to confirm when it will be broadcast near you: http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/nova/schedule-local.html

To learn more about the show, please visit the companion Web site, http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/nova/kilimanjaro/

Thank you for your help, and enjoy the show!

Best wishes,

ps: Note that their slideshow about the 7 summits has some dangerous incorrect information, calling Aconcagua an easy climb that can be done in 4 days  :o. I already have emailed them to have them correct this lethal 'information'.  :police:
