Aconcauga Guanachos route
« on: Dec 22 2007, 20:31 »

Summited Aconcagua by the Guanachos route which is a variation of the False Polish route on the 11th December 2007. We summited very pretty early in the season so pretty much had base camp to ourselves and saw nobody on the walk in to Plaza Argentina. Even though the weather was perfect on summit day the temperatures were very very cold on summit day. Everybody we saw was climbing in there down jackets all day and my fingers were quite cold for much of the day. Asolo AFS 8000 boots with custom footbeds were awesome very comfy and warm..

Hola!

congratulations, well done. Did you traverse from the Cerro Ameghino col to the North? The official Guanacos route is closed/offlimits?

Good you took good boots, it can be really cold up there :)
