What are the Real total Costs for Aconcagua?

I noticed the 2000~ all inclusive price for Aconcagua and the prices on other climbs, but what does it really cost for everything including buying the extreme gear, flying to Argentina, Cost while there, permits, etc.  I am just wondering about an average cost per person for everything.  I am several years off from being prepared for any of the big ones, but I am starting to strongly consider doing at least one or in about two to three years.

thanks for your message; total costs are hard to tell, especially the gear is expensive, if you have to buy this from scratch it can cost you between $1000 and $3000, depening on your choice and wishes. And ofcourse if you already have some stuff...
If you join a guided group you do no have to buy stuff like tents, ropes, stoves etc.
Flights are ofcourse totally dependent on where you coming from, but from most places in the world you should be able to get to argentina or chili for about $1000-$1400 max
Permit is max 300 depending on the dates.

I cannot be more specific I am afraid.

 Thanks for the information.  I will make the climb in the next few years, but before I moved ahead I wanted to see what hidden or unexpected cost were involved.

there are many different shops with many different qualities, just because some gear is cheap does not mean that you should buy it.
