After the blind climber now another double amputee wants to scale the top of the world:

A man who lost both his legs to frostbite while trying to climb New Zealand's highest mountain is to make an attempt on Everest.

After having both his legs amputated below the knee, Mark Inglis successfully re-climbed Aoraki/Mount Cook.
Now he is planning to climb Mount Everest while filming a documentary.

The Paralympian silver medal cyclist says his inspiration is double amputee Norman Croucher, from England, who also climbed Everest.

"He has just retired and he sent me a letter, with his latest book, saying it was my turn now," Mr Inglis told The Marlborough Express.

He describes the emotion of succeeding in his climb to the top of Mt Cook as "one of the most liberating and motivating things" he has done.
