"THREE seasoned mountaineers will climb Mount Everest again next March, this time without the help of bottled oxygen. If they succeed, they will be the first climbers in South-east Asia to achieve the feat.
Six years after he planted Singapore's flag on Mount Everest, mountaineer Edwin Siew wants a second go. The expedition will be led by veteran mountaineer Robert Goh and will also include Mr Lim Kim Boon. With them will be five young people from the National University Centennial Everest Team, who will climb Everest with the help of bottled oxygen.

To prepare for their climb, Dr Goh and Mr Lim scaled Cho Oyu peak in Tibet — which is just 650 metres lower than Mount Everest — without oxygen tanks. Said Dr Goh: "The biggest concern now is the funds that we still lack. At this moment, we are aiming to raise $100,000.
"We are also selling our expedition name. You can name our expedition after you for only $50,000. For example, you can call it the Solomon Mount Everest Expedition and be part of our expedition!" he added." — Channel NewsAsia
