All 14 Eight-thousanders
« on: Jun 2 2004, 09:37 »

i just bought Reinhold Messner's 'All 14 Eight-thousanders.' out of all the books he wrote, this one received the best reviews. this is my first messner book.  :eek) i have heard that his style of writing is very unusual.  :?)

anyone else want to write a review before i do? go ahead. i am going on a trip and will be back in a month. i will write my review then.

i just finished the book. i thought it was great. it had lots of good stories in it. also it gave a little history on each mountain he climbed. and another good thing was the way he used wrote bios on some close friends or successfull mountaineers. the only thing i did not like was that there were some spelling errors, and incorrect sentence structure, but that was the translators fault, not messners. anyway this gets 8/10 stars from me.

My vertical world

Go and buy "My vertical world", written by Jerzy Kukuczka and compare it with Messner's book. About the same subject, i.e. the 14, but very different in many ways.
Recommended.
