Expedition prescription glasses

Hi,

I recently ordered a pair of Julbo Micropore glasses with prescription lenses from Opticus, Inc (http://www.opticus.com) 1-800-870-5557 . I have been extremely happy with their service and selection of exteme eyeware. 

I hope this information helps. I had a really hard time finding a good company who provides prescription glasses for extreme conditions.

yoo can but also sunglasses with an optical clip. Adidas (advance)and Julbo (sense)provide them..also Oackley makes prescription sunglasses...only they are not suited fot extreme altitutes (cat.3)

Opticus is definitely the way to go.  They are extremely helpful and provide an excellent service.  I highly recommend them.  They sponsored my Rx glacier glasses and goggle needs for Everest in my Seven Summit quest.  Thanks guys.

visiblespectrum.net has been the best web site to provide options for climbing. They also do an excellent job with wrap-around styles in polarized lenses. Check out Oakley and Adidas products, Adidas has the new Clima-Cool which is an excellent glacier glass.

Adidas is only sufficied for high altitude with the space lens they provide...Oackley has no high altitude lens..their iridium lenses are not sufficient

I actually use Bausch and Lomb Purevision soft lenses. Can leep them in 30 days and nights, especially for low oxygen environments (for pilots etc). Works like a charm on Aconcagua, Denali and Everest!
Cost about $30/pair methinks...

I was actually thinking about getting Oakley's Iridium Fire goggles for use at high altitude.. What kind of goggles do you think I should have instead?

As for glasses I have a pair of Cebe Cecchinel 4000...

well its confusing. There are iridium lenses who let 13% visible light trough..but also who let 7-8 % trough. (2 or 3 types)Those last ones should be sufficient. Unfortautly i cant say wich ones are. (i have a folder in my shop, not at home) but maybe the oackley site can answer that question (be specific and say its for extreme altitute 8000+ meter) or just ask them on their support department. Maybe iridium fure is good.
