I am still interested, but I will be  honest, I have the stamina, fitness, enthusiasm etc, etc, and a little experience, but if the MrHanky was to hit the fan (lets be honest) I am not sure I could get myself and others out of a "situation"  having popped into a crevasse at 3800m where I was stopped by the good rope skills of my partners, I am nervous about going it on my own...... it seems like none of the group "know" the mountain and are not the most experienced and that makes me nervous..

not meaning to offend anyone, but expressing my thoughts...

regards,

Hi!

Right you are that none in the group have really high-altitude experience. Because of this we will hire a guide from Pilgrim Tours who will come with us during the summitday. Prior to that we will only be going in the tracks of other people, and up to Paschtukova Rocks. I think we will be safe riding the lifts even if none of us has any previous experience of mountaineering. There might also be a third participant who is a doctor from Sweden, semi-experienced... not sure if he is coming or not though...

Our experience consists basically of climbing Mt. Kebnekaise, something that both me and Mari has done earlier. Kebnekaise is Swedens highest mountain (2.142 metres) snowcovered all the time, although no altitude to speak of.

If you choose to go with us, then you are more then welcome. Otherwise we might see each other on the mountain, who knows?

We have delayed the previous date of booking the trip until May instead because of cash-flow problems for one of the members! ;) So, think about it then decide what you want to do.

Cheers,

Andreas

Veikka obviously has enough sponsors to live a good and "rich" life as well. I mean, he spends more of his time in the Himalayas then in Finland, or so it seems...

I hope they make Cho Oyu and then Annapurna.. Would be nice for Viesturs to finally manage all 8000'ers.. I think Annapurna is his last?

Hahaha... I could tell you what I get glazed eyes :eek)  from but since you know my kind of humour I think you can figure it out! ;)

Seriously, I would love to tackle the quest of an 8000+ mountain but before that I have loads of lower mountains to climb. ::)

I'm looking to join an expedition to Broad Peak (8047m) in 2007. That would be nice, but the only problem except for the price is the length of the trip (50 days).

Views of K2 and G1 and G2, Wow!!! :o

Hey John,

No.. The trip didn't happen. Me and Mari still haven't given up hope on going there some day though.

As to Pilgrim Tours. They were very good as far as we dealt with them and even though we didn't get to go this time you can rest asure that we will use them next time to set everything up for us in Russia.

I am closing this topic as the expedition has passed, off-topic discussions are starting and most of all some chinese spambot is spamming it. :?)

Please start new topics for separate discussions.
