Eduardo Silva from Brazil has died after summiting Aconcagua. On the way down he had problems breathing, sat down and died. It is most likely that he had pulmonary oedema, a lethal form of AMS where the lungs get flooded with fluid after ascending too quickly.

His wife suffered from frostbite and had to be resqued.

This again shows that Aconcagua is often underestimated. More people die here than on Denali as it has the appearance of an 'easy hike'...
