Just wondering how the altitude affects dogs? It is permitted to bring dogs on the 7 summits? Has anyone ever brought one and how did it go?

Most dogs love climbing mountains but I'm talking about small mountains/hills where altitude and cold is not an issue. Personally I don't see the point in bringing dogs up big mountains. I think it's cruel. Someone tried to bring a dog up Everest and the poor thing fell into a crevasse in the Khumbu icefall and died. The man chose to be there but the dog didn't...it's not right
