I'm planning to climb kili also, and have found a ducth organisation that has a very nice itinerary (sorry harry :-\). You go on safari for 3 days, walk with the ma'asai for 3 days, climb Oldoinyo Longai (holy mountain and active vulcano), Mt Meru AND Kili.
In total 23 days and costs 3195,= euro. (incl flight from holland). Prices seems a bit steep, but it's a pretty complete package...

Hey all, if you sort out a date together, then I will create a great trip for you. Will be fun to make a Kili trip for the forum members.

BTW, Marry, I can arrange the same trip and parts, but cheaper.
I am Dutch as well by the way...

And I know that most Dutch organisations actually charge extra fees for parks, food packages etc, so check carefully what they offer; er zijn vaak veel verborgen kosten  8)

Hi

I also have an interest in Kili and combined safari.  I would only have between 1 and 2 weeks though...(it's tough when you work full time and have so many places to see and so many adventures you want to do!)

Harry, please keep us posted on details of a Kili 2006 trip.  Spring is best for me.  What is the best time of year to climb Kili?  (for scenic beauty, weather and viewing of wildlife)

Thanks!

hi folks,

would love to try the different combinations. but chances are i'll go via the Machame route. its not too long (in terms of time) and not too short either. have to give the safari a miss because of work commitments. need the job to finance all my summits  ;D

being in IT, project schedules are soo unpredictable.....hehehe.....

a couple of people has so far said they want to go, but will see when its nearer, say earlier next year, how many will actually follow through  8)

so far, 7-summits.com has the most flexible dates (in my opinion). will try and plan such that we can summit during the full-moon period.

sometimes, its not just about pricing alone. the cheapest or the most expensive may not necessarily be the best. i also hope to fly direct into kili, as i want to avoid the hassle of border crossing.

i'm sure it will be fun to go with fellow 7-summits.com pple. maybe i shld bring my lightsabre and take the summit pic with it  O0

in the meantime, i m trekking up a non 7-summit in about 2 mths time. mt kinabalu (4095m) in malaysia. a non-technical climb, i m using it as a dry run to kili, and see how much fitter i have to get.....heheheehe

jk

ps: any more jedi summiteers? sith lords are also welcome..... ;D
