Climbs to New Heights in Support of the Make-A-Wish Foundation(R) Of Canada
IPC Financial Network Inc. ('IPC') is pleased to announce that it will be attempting to climb the highest solitary peak in the world, Mt. Kilimanjaro, in order to raise funds for the Make-A-Wish Foundation(R) of Canada.

10/2/02

Some 22 advisors from IPC's wholly owned subsidiary Investment Planning Counsel of Canada, will be leaving for Africa on January 3,rd 2003, in an attempt to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro.
'In an effort to create a fundraising campaign around the climb, we have decided to get sponsorship for every foot of the mountain we are climbing,'says Steve Meehan CEO of IPC Financial Network. 'Our goal is to raise over $200,000 for the Make-A-Wish(R) Foundation of Canada. The peak of Mount Kilimanjaro is 19,340 ft, so as a company we have decided to raise sponsorship of $10 per foot. That, combined with our other efforts, will hopefully push us over the $200,000 mark. This expedition will be the thrill of a lifetime for those of us involved, but most importantly it will raise funds and awareness for the Make-A-Wish Foundation(R),'continued Meehan.

The IPC Climbing team Mission statement is 'The IPC Team is dedicated to scaling the heights of Kilimanjaro to help with granting wishes to children living with life-threatening illnesses. Our hope is to bring some joy at a time when it is so desperately needed.'

All of the climbers are amateurs and will be paying their own way to go on this expedition. The IPC Team has hired veteran African safari guide and climber, Eddie Frank, founder and owner of the US based Tusker Trail and Safari Co. to lead them up the mountain. Mr. Frank, who has been leading expeditions up Kilimanjaro for twenty-six years, is extremely enthusiastic about the climb, and as a show of personal support has donated a free trip to the climber who raises the most money for the Make-A-Wish Foundation(R) of Canada.
