Congratulations guys!!!  Well done to all the Russian's who have summitted - now just get the hell out of there and make it down safely?

Good luck to Harry, Lorenzo and the rest of the team in group 2 - hope the weather stays kind for the June 1st push

Does anyone know if the summiteers will be resting overnight at camp 3 (8300m) or will they go further down to camp 2 (7700m)?  I guess with Group 2 now at 7700m they will have to remain at 8300m or are there enough tents at camp 2?

regards
Colin

News update:

Most of summit group 1 now in Camp 3 (8300m), except for Karo and his sherpa who headed down to ABC.

Erik

------------------------------

From Alexander Abramov:

"Today, May, 30, seven Members and six high-altitude porters (Sherpas) from the 7 Summits Club expedition successful climbed the summit of Mount Everest. The first, about 7 mornings, has risen Karo Ovasapian, in half an hour - Alexander Jakovenko, behind him - Nikolay Cherny. Then Igor Pohvalin from Crimea. Jury Tajdakov, Ivan Dusharin and Grigory Skaller have risen a bit later. Six Sherpas (Pasang Tenzing, Mingma Forche, Pemba Tensing Samte, Mingma Gelu, Pasang Temba Geldjin, Pemba Renjin) have reached the top witn his members, led by Sirdar Mingma (at him it is 4th ascent).

We would like to note Nikolay Cherny success, first time trying to make an ascent during the first Soviet Everest expedition in 1982. We congratulate him ! We are proud to be his partners and we note, that the success was held in our expedition. Now on the high slopes of Everest the weather has deteriorated, but to this moment all participants of an ascent have gone down in camp at height of 8300 meters. The majority of them will spend the night there. Only Каrо together with his individual Sherpa has decided to go down in АВС. Tomorrow the second group will climb from 7700 m up to 8300 meters. As well as it was planned, in it there will be 12 person."

Great news! Congratulations to Group 1. May the good weather and luck hold for Group 2. Quote "Mentir y comer pescado quiren cuadado"! roughly translated from Spanish means "To tell lies, and , to eat fish, both need care! Sorry, but could not think of anything appropriate, but DO take care,  Lorenzo, Harry and the rest of the team,(especially on the descent) Love Ruth, and Nikky.

WTG Team 1 - CHEERS!!!!!!!   Alittle song for you all

Carpenters - Top Of The World Lyrics
Such a feelin's comin' over me
There is wonder in most everything I see
Not a cloud in the sky
Got the sun in my eyes
And I won't be surprised if it's a dream.

Everything I want the world to be
Is now coming true especially for me
And the reason is clear
It's because you are here
You're the nearest thing to heaven
that I've seen.

I'm on the top of the world lookin'
down on creation
