Hi Leafy

I use Feathered Friends Icefall

http://www.featheredfriends.com/garmentProductDetails.aspx?productId=18&CatId=2&ProductName=Icefall%20Parka

Feathered Friends will customise any way you like, add mitts clips, removable hood, adjust arm length, they are very accomodating.

Cheers

FF Icefall is a very nice jacket. Good for far colder and higher peaks than Aco.

I used a light weighter. Well, I brought it, but never had to use it the times I've been on Aco.
Half the price and almost half the weight compared with the FF.
A membrane jacket, a fleece and a thermal inner were all I needed.

My jacket: Bask Chamonix (http://www.baskcanada.com/Featured/down-wear/chamonixuiaa.htm)

Hey thats nice gear Corsair, I like your choice for Aconcagua.
I should qualify my FF choice, it was used for Mustagata at 7546 metres. Extemely warm jacket. Cheers

Hey Guys!

I used the North Face Summit jacket on Aconcagua, plenty warm. Steve House just climbed Nanga Parbat (more than 8000m) with the Patagonia DAS parka. I used a warmer down jacket on Vinson because of the -35c temperature, but the Summit jacket could have been OK, a little cold but just enough.

I used my little Bask jacket also when summiting Muztagh Ata.
When going higher, I use another Bask jacket:

Did you summit Muztagh Ata?
A very nice area with lots of interesting peaks.

It's interesting to see 4 out the top 5 brands (when looking at down quality) are mentioned in this thread.
Bask, FF, RAB and Valandre.
The only one missing is Western Mountaineering.
Couldn't find the link to the site where I saw the test.
