what is the cost of an expedition to cho oyu?

can someone please provide a breakdown of a bare-minimum cost?

lets say 7 people on the permit. so thats $1429 for permit. please include all other costs.

The peak fee is $3000. 10 persons + exp. leader and sometimes also assisting leader. I.e. for 12 persons.
It'll be a long post if I include all additional costs, but you can get away doing Cho Oyo for $2800-3200 total from Lhasa or Kathmandu. That is joining a Russian tour operator. Price does not include flights to/from Asia. You may get away even cheaper getting a last minute place as a 11'th or 12'th person on a not-full permit.

you can look for alex abramov or andrei ershov for example. they are two of the old-school russians who have lead lots of successful expeditions to the himalayas and elsewhere. i'm not sure about their schedules for next year, but if they don't have plans for cho oyu, they can for sure give you hints about where to find those who have.
