A Question for all Adventurers! Why?
« on: Jun 9 2005, 20:53 »

hi there everyone,

i am currently working on an advertising campaign that is being aimed at the 'real' extreme persuits people such as everyone on this forum, and after reading almost every post on this forum I have to say I am truely fascinated! An abundance of spectacular pictures and stories of what be hundreds of life changed experiences!

However the main reason for me stumbling across this website, was to find out 'why?'.

as far as I can see there must be a single, stand-alone reason that drives you all do embark on what must be grueling and hugely time consuming trips.

All in all I am looking for some key insight into what drives you all. So please post in as many or as few words as you wish what makes you want to do these things.

thank you again

hey andrew,

just my 2-cents thoughts on your topic.

i asked myself the same question a few months back. why would i want to do this? my friends think i am nuts. i feel that i need a challenge that i will remember for the rest of my life. whether i succeed or fail is entirely different matter. the point is, i live up to the challenge, and hopefully i'll succeed.

y take on the 7-summits? cuz money cant buy u success on the 7-summits. money only buy u a chance to climb the 7-summits. ultimately its u....your physical self that have to complete the task.

u can be a millionaire with all the money in the world, but u may still not able to complete the 7-summits. on the other hand, u can be earning just an average sum. but with dedication, hard work, and sponsorship, u can be on top of the world  ;D

its a great adrenaline rush.....the kind of feeling u get after a long run. u will be exhausted, but the reward is unbelieveable.

may the Force be with you  O0
