Alternative decents, does it count?
« on: Sep 9 2010, 21:26 »

Hi

What is the climbing community's thought on alternative descents, does it count as a climb?

For example if you climb Kilimanjaro and fly down in a paraglider, or ski down elbrus.

Hey Norseman,

Though in climbing the goal is to get down alive, statistically speaking it does not matter.
(Even people who die on descent are considered as summiteers).

Be safe!
Cheers, Harry
