Hey fellow mountaineers!
I am in college and writing a research paper on tourism and Everest.  I am looking for any comments you might have on this subject or any suggestions for me to discuss.  I plan to touch on the evolution of guided expeditions, what effect these economics have had on the attitude on the mountain, and any changes this may have caused in the sport of climbing.  I welcome all perspectives on this subject.  Thanks!!!

Hi Kim,

welcome to the forum (you might want to register so you can get notifications when a reply is added).

Start with searching this forum about the subject, check under polls, the 'everest closed?' question should give some points of view.

Also last summer there was an article in newsweek about exactly this, so you might want to dig there.

There is a lot to say about the topic, so if anyone wants to add his or her thoughts about it, feel free
