Born in 1970 in the Netherlands, Harry Kikstra lives in Amsterdam. Since gaining a Master's degree in business management, he has combined commercial work with an adventurous life that takes him all over the world. He created his company and popular website 7summits.com in 1999 when he became a full-time adventurer, organiser and leader of expeditions, including some TV productions.

Climbing & adventure bio
- Climbed Ojos de Salados, Rwenzori mountains (Uganda), Chogolisa (Pakistan, no summit), Mt Blanc (3 different routes) as well as smaller mountains all over the world.
- Cycled with Romke Jonker on a tandem bike from Amsterdam to Zermatt, climbed Punta Gnifetti afterwards (4500m)
- Cycled Amstel Gold race and Liege Bastogne Liege few times both.
- Climbed waterfalls, ice, rock and other steep stuff in Scotland, France, Italy, Spain, Chile, Thailand and many other places.
- Guided on Kilimanjaro, Elbrus, Denali, Aconcagua, Everest & Vinson.
- Co-expedition leader with friend Alex Abramov on Vinson & Everest (7summits.com/7summits-club.com expeditions)

Elbrus comments: Priut 11 hut was burnt down previous year, we camped on the opposite ridge: windy, cold but nice. No snow cat, no chairlift, no 2nd cable car.

Carstensz Pyramid comments:
We went through the mine (no hiding, just in the open). Snow on summitridge, loads of rain all the time. Climbed Ngga Pulu 2 days later.
Denali route: West Buttress
Denali partner: Jose Mijares
Denali comments: 2 person team, prepared for 4 weeks on the mountain. But we summited after 13 days :) Early May, mighty cold...
I guided 2nd summit 3 years later, with Marian Slot, Jake Meyer, Ron Doorakkers, Bas Duynstee & Chris Vachon. 11 days to the summit (22nd June)
Aconcagua route: Polish traverse up, normal route down
Aconcagua partner: Erik Slot (summit), Don Cook (got ill at BC).
Aconcagua remarks: summited late on 31st December, New Years Eve! I guided 2nd summit 3 years later, with Marian Slot & Stefan.
Everest route: Mallory route, North Col.

Vinson partners: I guided this 3rd 7summits.com/7summits-club.com Vinson expedition, together with Alex. Summited simultaneously with Heber Orona & Pablo Kommer from Argentina. Climbed with Alex Abramov, Boris Sedusov and Vyacheslav (Slava) Pashkov.
Kosciuszko: first summited using regular drive/walk up route with friend Jim Fraser. 2 days later returned and climbed the Hannel's Spur (1800m vertical, mostly bushbashing) with Lincoln Hall and friends. |
