Additional Infophoto: Everest summit with the Hong Kong flag.

Louis Bowen started climbing in 1984 in the Alps & was inspired by his good friend in Hong Kong, 7summiteer Keith Kerr.

Climbing was the perfect antidote to his high pressure, intensely urban professional life in Hong Kong. He never had great ambitions in climbing, he always did it to be in the mountains and be with good friends. Louis found that his friends were going to bigger and bigger mountains so he followed them.
What happened was he found myself, after Everest in '92, having climbed at least two of the most difficult of the 7 summits, thinking that he might as well go for the others...

Climbing is still very important to him today but now he does it with his family and very close friends. In 2001 he climbed Hyuni Potosi in Bolivia.
Other climbs include Mt. Cook in New Zealand, the Matterhorn, Mt. Blanc, Gran Paradiso, the Bishorn and the Weishorn in the Alps.
He has climbed Ranier four times including an epic climb of the Kautz Glacier in 1989. He has also been to Cotopaxi in Equador but had to turn back due to weather.
