With a disposition to always look on the bright side.Pat Falvey, entrepreneur, and motivational speaker, shares his philosophy and beleifs on how best to find success and fulfilment in our every day lives and turn our dreams into reality.

Pat left school at 15 with a dream, to become a millionaire, this status he achieved in his early 20's, having worked up the corporate ladder from being a bricklayer to running his own construction , auctioneering, and financial services companies.

With a loss of focus, he was facing financial ruin at the age of 28. He then deceided to adopt a fresh approach to the challenge of life and re-assessed his lifestyle and his objectives. This led him on an amazing odyssey of travel, adventure and exploration to the highest and most remote corners of our earth , mixing with amazing cross section of people's and cultures. Over his short time as an adventurer he became the only Irishman to climb on the seven highest mountains on the seven continents and joined an elite group of less than 40 adventurers world-wide to successfully do so.

He is the 1'st person from the republic of Ireland to stand on that sacred plot of ground which is known to the Tibetan's as "Chomolungma" Goddess mother of the earth. At 29,028 feet it's six miles high in the sky and is known to us westeners as Mt.Everest.

Pat's life is a story of successes and failures, disapointments and triumphs, of how to turn adversity to advantage. It is a sketch of the wonderful effects of living life with an optimistic outlook, of how to stay completely focused and the advantages of doing so. Of how to turn negatives into positives and in the process making your life an adventure to be enjoyed.

About each climb:

The Mt.Mckinley expedition was part of an intensive training programme for Everest in 1995. It was also the first of the seven summits for Pat to conquer. It was on the 14th of June 1994 that Pat reached the summit of Mckinley and began his voyage in becoming the first Irish man to climb the seven highest mountains in each of the seven continents.

Kilimanjaro was the second of the seven summits for Pat to summit. He was accompanied by a Cork school teacher and close friend Joe O' Leary. Pat and Joe reached the summit at 10am on the 4th of January 1995.

Pat Falvey first set out to conquer Everest in 1993. However bad weather and the death of a team member made it impossible to reach the summit. Pat returned to Nepal and on the27th of May 1995, He succeeded in becoming the first Irishman to reach the summit of Everest.

Aconcagua was the fourth of the seven summits for Pat to complete. Con Collins another Cork man accompanied Pat on his expedition to South America. It was at 3.30pm on Sunday the 31st of December 1995 that they successfully reached the summit.

Mt.Elbrus was the fifth of the seven summits that Pat successfully climbed. The group consisted of team members. It was at 10.30am on the 2nd of April 1996 that Pat conquered the mountain commonly known as "the jewel in the central caucasus".

Mt Vinson was the second last of the seven summits for Pat to conquer. He was the only Irish man to take part in the expedition. Due to the harsh topography of the area, it was necessary for the climbers to get a private cessna plane to carry them to base camp. It was on the 24th of January 1997, that Pat took his final steps to as he described "the most magnificant, unspoiled and perhaps, loneliest place on earth."

The Cartensz Pyramid was the finishing point of Pat Falveys odyssey. He was accompanied by three of his best friends, Con Moriarty,Mike Shea and Gene Tangney. On the 14th of Feburary 1997, Pat reached the summit. Con turned to Pat and and asked him "How do you feel". Pat replied "I feel absolutely on a high, my dream is now a reality". Shining his torch into the face of Con Moriarty, he continued "Finally the odyssey has ended, but I'm just beginning".

Comments on the above by 7summits:
- Pat Falvey did climb Kosciuszko, not Carstensz Pyramid like the 2nd site states.
- Dawson Stelfox was the 1st Irishman to climb Everest on May 27th 1993. He had a double nationality as most people from Ulster, but technically was Irish as well as British, therefore summiting as first Irish 2 years before Pat Falvey.

Clare O'Leary was the first Irish woman to finish the 7 summits. She climbed all 7 with Pat Falvey, who had already climbed the 7 before, this being his second round:
