Biography:
Dan grew up in southern Ontario in the city of Stratford. He studied Political Science and Anthropology at York University in Toronto graduating with a BA in 1973. He married Deborah, a girl from his home town and they traveled in their early 20's out west and immediately fell in love with climbing , hiking and being in the mountains. The small town of Field BC in Yoho National Park was to be their home for 19 years, where they had a family of three. Dan explored the local mountains and traveled extensively for pleasure and then for work, guiding first friends in the local mountains, then clients all over the world.

As a professional mountain guide since 1978, Daniel has spent his life either guiding or teaching people about how to travel in the mountains which he truly loves. "Life is always an adventure when your with Dan"

Dan Griffith has traveled and climbed around the world from Everest and K2 in the Himalaya, to the Matterhorn in the Alps, the tall peaks of South America and the classic summits around his home in the mountains of Western Canada . Over the past several decades, Dan has guided on a broad range of trips from international expeditions to local day climbs. His experience as a lead guide in heliskiing and an instructor and examiner in the training of other mountain guides further rounds out his already remarkable background.
