Additional InfoLee Nobmann has reached professional heights with his family-owned lumber company.
"Although I'd worked in the business fory,I didn't understand balance sheets, financial statements, inventory control or any of those management things."

Nonetheless, under his direction Golden State Lumber Inc., a $150 million contractor-based lumber company outside San Francisco, has grown 25 percent to 30 percent annually for the past several years. Nobmann has achieved it all without formal business training.

He has reached literal heights in his personal pursuits: In 1996, he completed his quest and became the twenty-seventh American to summit the highest mountain on each of the seven continents. Upon completing that Olympian quest, Nobmann purchased an airplane, learned to fly, and now spends much of his free time at mountaintop altitudes, only without any ground beneath his feet.
