Additional InfoBesides being the first Lithuanian on the 7summits he was also on top of Peak Communism in the Pamirs, the highest point in the Soviet Union.
He never smoked or drank, and always climbed alone, which was unusual and quite dangerous. But he loved it and said:
"When I'm up there at the very top, I feel life is worth living."
