Additional InfoJim Williams has been climbing, guiding, and studying the world's major peaks for almost 30 years. He has reached the summit of six of the world's seven highest mountains. As founder and expedition leader for Professional Mountain Guides, Jim has covered almost every country in Asia, South America, Europe, Africa and Antarctica.

As co-leader of the successful 1982 Rudshe Konka Expedition in central China, Jim made the first ascent of one of China's most difficult ice climbs. In 1989, Jim was a leader of The International Overland Expedition, the historic cross-country ski expedition to the South Pole. Jim was also the leader of the first American crossing of the Patagonia Ice Cap in 1991. In 1993, 1997 and 1999 Jim guided a successful winter ascent of Ama Dablam in Nepal. During the past year, Jim was the climbing leader for the Everest Extreme - NASA/Yale medical research expedition.

- Guide on Nupste, Lhotse, McKinley, Ama Dablam, Carstenz Pyramid, Elbrus and Aconcagua.
- Reached summit of Mt. Everest in 2000 with clients.
- First person to have successfully guided all "Seven Summits" in less than one year.
- Member - Marmot Mountain Ltd. Design Board. Owner of Professional Mountain Guides, Jackson Hole.

Jim began his career exploring the mountains at age 14 and continued his interest in climbing and mountaineering while earning a geology degree from Rocky Mountain College in Montana. With his home in Jackson Hole, Jim is a senior guide with Exum Mountain Guides during the summer months. This has given him a great amount of experience and knowledge of Grand Teton National Park and the Wind River Range in Wyoming.

While Jim is an accomplished mountaineer, his natural curiosity has inspired him to absorb the beauty and culture of the many countries he has explored. In a small-group setting, you too, may share these experiences through trips such as the Thai Cooking School and the Yangtze River Exploratory. (info from his website)
