Mendoza's protected areas authority has opened promotional advance sales of Ascent and Long Trekking permits for Aconcagua's 2026-2027 season, running 14-30 September through licensed operators on the Horcones and Vacas routes. Permits require evacuation and medical insurance covering activity up to 5,500 metres and are non-refundable, though unused nominated permits can carry over to future seasons.
