The Himalayan Database recorded 1,519 people on Everest in 2025, nearly four times the 395 recorded in 1995, with 878 reaching the summit. Hired workers now outnumber visitors, making up over 60% of people on the mountain, and almost all summits now happen in a narrow spring window.
