Biografie
André Bredenkamp, a property developer in Cape Town who grew up in Pietermaritzburg, reached the summit of Everest twice: from Tibet on 20 May 2004 and from Nepal on 19 May 2007. South African press in 2011 described him as the only South African to have climbed the 7 summits on his first attempt at each, as an amateur. He climbed several of them with Mike Nixon (who did not finish all 7), and he finished on Kilimanjaro on 12 January 2011. On 25 July 2011 he reached the summit of Broad Peak in Pakistan.
