Biografía

Neil Elliott is from Ballinamallard, County Fermanagh, in Northern Ireland. His climbing began with the Ballinamallard Scouts and the Duke of Edinburgh's Award, and his first expedition took him to the Alps in the early 1990s, where he climbed Mont Blanc with friends Raymond Hassard and Edward Carson.

His seven summits began in the 1990s with Denali. Kilimanjaro followed, with his brother Johnny, then Aconcagua, Carstensz Pyramid (the climb he enjoyed most, 'like an Indiana Jones') and Elbrus. In 2006 he led the first Fermanagh team to Everest: on 17 May 2006 he reached the summit by the North Col and North-East Ridge from Tibet with Fergal Corrigan, Raymond Hassard, Steve Hodge and Jonathan Salter.

Nine years later, in December 2015, he completed the seven summits on Vinson, climbing with Steve Hodge and his son Ben, the second person from Northern Ireland and the sixth from Ireland to do so. In October 2025 he finished the 282 Munros of Scotland, a project of more than thirty years.

Neil founded Future Renewables, a renewable energy company based in the old Ballinamallard railway station, in 2009, and was NI Chamber of Commerce Entrepreneur of the Year 2023/24.
