Amir Bar-Lev's film The Last First: Winter K2 examines the 2021 winter first ascent of K2, the first climb of that peak in winter, and the competing teams involved, several of whose members did not survive. The film also notes that Nirmal Purja, a prominent figure in the climb, died in an avalanche this year.
