Mendoza's Protected Areas authority has banned high-risk activities, including the South Face ascent, glacier skiing, paragliding and BASE jumping, in Aconcagua Provincial Park from 20 December to 1 February. The rule aims to preserve rescue and medical capacity during the busiest visitor period; standard trekking and mountaineering are unaffected.
