Tanzania voegt gezondheidsformulier bij aankomst toe voor reizigers

Vanaf 17 oktober 2026 moet elke internationale reiziger die Tanzania binnenkomt een online Traveller's Health Surveillance Form invullen, met temperatuurscreening op luchthavens, landgrenzen en zeehavens. Sinds 1 oktober 2026 geldt daarnaast een verplichte inkomende reisverzekering. Beide maatregelen zijn van toepassing op iedereen die dit seizoen voor een Kilimanjaro-beklimming inreist.

Tanzania and Kenya now require entry insurance

Since the start of October 2026, foreign visitors to mainland Tanzania and Kenya must buy a government travel insurance policy to enter, at $44 per adult. The cover is limited and does not replace a proper mountain policy. Kilimanjaro climbers still need their own insurance for high-altitude trekking, rescue and evacuation.
