What experience do I need for Elbrus, and are porters or a course available?
Elbrus by the normal south route is a non-technical but serious snow climb: you need to be fit enough for a ten to twelve-hour summit day at altitude, comfortable walking in crampons on hard snow, and able to self-arrest with an ice axe. See also Training for Elbrus.
