US runner Erin Ton, 29, reached Kilimanjaro's summit in 5 hours 47 minutes on 8 September, beating the previous women's Fastest Known Time by over an hour. Her round trip of 8 hours 33 minutes also set a new record. Kilimanjaro is Ton's second of the 7 summits after Aconcagua, with Carstensz Pyramid, Denali, Elbrus, Vinson and Everest still to come.
