Elbrus in August 2026, the last of seven
David Gray, an Australian who works at the Perth recruitment firm DRD Group, completed the 7 summits on Elbrus in August 2026. DRD Group announced it in a LinkedIn post on Monday 24 August. It reads: "Last weekend, David Gray successfully summited Mount Elbrus, the highest mountain in Europe, proudly reaching the summit with the DRD Group flag in hand."
The same post names all seven of his peaks: Elbrus, Everest, Kilimanjaro, Denali, Aconcagua, Vinson and Kosciuszko. With Kosciuszko as the Australian peak, that is the Bass list, the version Dick Bass completed in 1985.
What the record holds
The announcement gives the peaks, so his climber page lists all seven, with Elbrus dated to August 2026. The Seven Summits Registry, where climbers record their own ascents, puts that summit on 22 August, which matches the "last weekend" of the post. The dates of the other six climbs are the part still to fill in.
That makes his entry provisional for now, marked with an asterisk on the lists. Every total and country figure already counts him. A date for each ascent, an expedition report or a summit photo from Gray himself turns it into a full entry, and the climber page has a button for exactly that.
He joins our list of finishers, which now counts 798 climbers.
