The last summit party of Madison Mountaineering's season
Jeffery Arnold, a Canadian climber, reached the summit of Everest on 27 May 2026 with Madison Mountaineering. He was in the expedition's final summit party, with expedition leader Garrett Madison, Terray Sylvester and Reid Tileston, and five Sherpa climbers: Siddhi Ghising, Mani, Ardi, Hira and Santosh.
Madison called it in from Camp IV the same day. "Today, the last members of our expedition, Everest team all reached the summit," he said in the company's dispatch of 27 May. By then the whole party was back in Camp IV. The four were already at the South Col on 25 May, when the rest of the team summited. The expedition's list of summiters, posted on 28 May, names him as "Jeffery Arnold, Canada".
For Madison it was a 16th Everest summit, which Alan Arnette's season coverage puts second among non-Sherpa climbers.
Listed as a 7 summits finisher
The Seven Summits Registry, where climbers record their own ascents, lists Arnold as having completed the 7 summits with Everest as his last peak, on the same date. The registry gives the final peak only, so which list he finished and when he climbed the other six are still open.
His record is in our moderation queue while those six ascents are researched. An expedition report, a club notice or a word from Arnold himself would complete it, and climbers can send in their own record at any time. The list of finishers counts 798 climbers today.
