Biografía
Kim Hess is an American mountaineer and speaker from Steamboat Springs, Colorado, and a graduate of the University of Colorado Boulder. She climbed the 7 summits with her brother Steven between 2011 and 2018, after he proposed the challenge as a bet at Christmas 2009, and paid for the expeditions by bartending, working in a ski shop and pet-sitting.
On the descent of Denali in July 2013 she broke her wrist in three places and her foot, injuries that took six operations over about two years. Her first attempt on Everest ended at Camp 2 in the 2015 earthquake season; she reached the summit in May 2016. She finished on Kosciuszko on 11 March 2018.
