Insulated sleeping pad on Everest
Also called: Insulated inflatable sleeping pad, Self-inflating mattress, Sleeping kit (bag and mat, for the overnight), Sleeping pad
What it is for
Insulates you from the ground. On snow or frozen ground the cold comes from below, and a warm sleeping bag on a thin mat still makes a cold night.
