Sir Ranulph Fiennes, 82, has not been seen in public for around two years, and Cheshire Constabulary has said he is living in an appropriate setting with suitable care. A friend of the explorer, Michael Kobold, has told the Mail that Fiennes wrote a sealed will in his tent at Everest base camp before an unsuccessful summit attempt. Friends including Bear Grylls and Ben Fogle, and his step-son Alexander Millington-Cotes, have called for an investigation by the police and the Office of the Public Guardian.
